Release Stored Muscle Tensions Gently and Effectively

I'm Carolyn Shand and I am based in the Cape Town City Bowl. I first encountered BSR in 2012 and was in awe of how something so gentle could be so effective. Fascinated and intrigued by the BSR technique, I qualified as a BSR Practitioner the next year and the rest, as they say, is history!

About

THE CONSULTATION

The BSR technique is very gentle and most clients find the experience pleasant and relaxing.

In the initial consultation your practitioner will take a case history after which they will lower you down on a specially designed bed, which minimizes any pain and discomfort and ensures that your body is properly aligned.

While you are lying down, fully clothed, your practitioner tests your body for stored tension. They then apply gentle and precise impulses to the affected areas which encourage the body to release tension.

The first appointment will last 45 minutes to an hour. Subsequent appointments will take between 30 and 45 minutes depending on what stress patterns are found in your body.

If this is your first time having BSR, then it is recommended that you book three appointments within a two week period to fully benefit from the process. Most clients experience beneficial results by the third session.

ABOUT

Body Stress Release (BSR) was founded in South Africa in 1981 by Gail and Ewald Meggersee, both chiropractors at the time, who were seeking a gentler, non-manipulative technique. BSR has grown to include practitioners in over 15 countries, 3 international associations and 2 training academies worldwide.
